Divisions
Separating players into the appropriate division is a challenge that we see at every tournament. With an event this size and players coming from various locations, it is impossible for us to know everyone's skill level. The informations below provides a guide to help you determine which division best suits you. When registering for a doubles event, you MUST choose the division of the higher skilled player on the team. We reserve the right to move any players/teams to a different division.
What's a Dekaround
Dekaround Average is the average of your latest 10 dekarounds.

- Novice – This division is for players who are new to the game or play in their backyard. If we know you then this likely isn't the division for you. If you know a local bar or venue where you can play a weekly blind draw then this isn't the division for you.
(Dekaround Range: 0 – 50 points) - Intermediate – This division is designed for players who have started to play regularly/competitively and have the occasional moments of brilliance followed by rounds of inaccuracy. Players at this level play frequently either with friends or at the local weekly blind draw.
(Dekaround Range: 51 – 70 points) - Competitive – If you're competing at this level then you are likely playing at least once per week, if not more, in a competitive event. It's a good probability that you've played in a regional, conference or national event. Players at this level are talented and know how they stack up against other players.
(Dekaround Range: 71 – 90) - Advanced – The best players in the state are competing in this division. Players/teams competing in this division are playing for the biggest payouts and the title of the best player/team in the state! Nothing more needs to be said.
(Dekaround Range: 91 – 120)

NOT SURE IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT?
Most likely, if you have played in event with an ACL Director then you will have an ACL account. If you are not sure if you have played in an ACL event before, go to www.iplayacl.com/acl-standings and click on the PLAYER DETAIL tab. Search for your name. If it appears from the dropdown then you have an ACL account. If your name doesn't appear then you can click the JOIN button in the navigation bar.
FREE VS. PAID MEMBERSHIPS
In order to compete in an ACL event, you need at least a free ACL account. If you would like to upgrade to a paid ACL account then you can do so once you log in on at app.iplayacl.com and purchase the membership at the bottom of the My Account page. Paid members get $5 off for singles and doubles events (automatically deducted at the check out).
REGISTRATION AND EVENT SCHEDULE
It is the player's responsibility to understand the event schedule and not register for overlapping events. The schedule was designed so that if you are an intermediate player then you can compete in both intermediate divisions without overlapping. If a player signs up for overlapping divisions and is still in one event when another one begins then that player will be forfeited from the singles event so that his/her partner is not affected.

Prize Payouts
Producing an event of this size takes a considerable amount of planning, preparation and execution to make sure it runs smoothly and efficiently. All ACL conference events across the country have a standard payout schedule that we must adhere to. The remaining entry fees and admission fee are necessary to make sure it is a top flight event. Those looking for 100% payout should seek out an alternative event. Typical payout is 1 person/team for every 5 player/team entries. Additional sponsor money will be added ONLY to the Advanced Divisions.
These payouts and the admission fees ensure that we can cover our expenses (staffing and travel expenses) for putting on the highest quality event where all you have to do is show up and play! Payouts and entry fees are standardized across the country for all conference events.
- 70% plus additional sponsor money for Advanced divisions where available
- 60% for Competitive divisions
- 50% for Intermediate divisions
- Jerseys and prizes (no cash payout) for Novice divisions
- 70% for Women, Seniors, Crew Cup and Advanced Blind Draw
- 50% for Intermediate Blind Draws
These payouts and the admission fees ensure that we can cover our expenses (staffing and travel expenses) for putting on the highest quality event where all you have to do is show up and play! Payouts and entry fees are standardized across the country for all conference events.
PLAYER & SPECTATOR BEHAVIOR
We want everyone to have a great time and enjoy themselves. We've worked hard to provide you with an exciting and memorable experience where you can come, throw bags, compete, and meet or get re-acquainted with friends. All players abide by the ACL player and fan Code of Conduct. Any conduct we deem inappropriate will result in an immediate ejection for the facility and loss of entry fees and prize money up to that point. The tournament directors have the final call.
