WILD WEST SHOOT OUT INFORMATION
We've created this page to help prepare you for the Wild West Shoot Out! There is a lot crammed in during this 2 1/2 day event and we want you to have the best experience possible, regardless of how much you lose on the craps table.
ACCESS TO THE EVENT CENTER
The Wild West Shoot Out will take place in the conference/event center at The Plaza Hotel and Casino. We are hopeful that we will be set up and ready to go by 4pm on Friday. You are welcome to come in and start throwing at that time. On Saturday and Sunday, we will have the doors open at 7:30am for warm ups.
At the conclusion of the Friday and Saturday events, we will be closing the doors by 11pm and security will be locking up for the night. We unfortunately cannot leave the doors open all night for open play. Please be sure to have your side games completed by the time we end. If you want to continue playing, there is plenty of space in the parking lot and the Vegas weather will be fantastic.

ACL PLAYER ACCOUNTS
We will be using ACL Software to guide many of the tournaments. While you do NOT need to be a ACL member (either free of paid) to compete in the Wild West Shoot Out, every player will need at least a free ACL account. I have gone ahead and created ACL accounts for every player who is competing and did not have an account.
The ACL software allows us to send text message updates for the brackets, your court assignment and results of each game you compete in. FOR SOME, I DO NOT HAVE A PHONE NUMBER ON FILE. PLEASE SEE A KB KORNHOLE STAFF TO GET THIS UPDATED. If you would like to update your phone number then go to app.iplayacl.com and update it from the My Account page. Most passwords default to passwordacl or they could be cornhole. If you cannot log in then either contact us (info@kbkornholegames.com) or see a KB Kornhole staff. member at the event.

SCHEDULE & DIVISIONS
It is impossible for us to know the skill level of each player in this event. Likewise, an advanced player in one area might look very different than an advanced player in another area. That's why we use the Dekaround system to gauge your skill level.
We also created the schedule so that a Tier 1 player could play in Tier 1 Singles, Tier 1 Doubles and Lower Doubles Shoot Out without overlapping any events. The same thing holds true for the other Tier levels.
Tier 1 and Tier 2 players should be in Lower Division Doubles Shoot Out and Tier 3 and Tier 4 players should be in Upper Division Doubles Shoot Out. To determine your division, you should be in the division for the highest skilled player on your team.

WWSO TROPHY & ACL POINTS EVENTS
WWSO Points
There are a total of 1482 points that can be earned toward the WWSO Trophy. 780pts in the six singles tournaments and 702pts for the two Doubles Shoot Outs. The points are scaled by division and by the number of players in each division. For the singles events, roughly 15-20% of each field will earn WWSO points. For the Shoot Out events, roughly a third of the field will earn WWSO points since we have combined divisions.
DETERMINING POSITION & WHO GOES FIRST
To determine positioning and who goes first, you can flip a coin, spin a bag, rock-paper-scissors, or whatever method you can come up with to determine a winner. The player/team who wins the bag spin gets to throw first AND choose their positioning. The player/team who loses the bag spin then sets their team. In doubles matches, the team who wins the bag spin can defer positioning to the other team if they choose that approach. If both teams have the same color bags, the higher seed gets to choose.
SPLIT BRACKET EVENTS
Many of the events will have split brackets, meaning that if there are more than 64 players (singles) or teams (doubles) registered, then half will play bracket A and the other half will play in bracket B. Both brackets will be independent double elimination tournaments. The winners of each bracket will play one game for the championship.
TIMEOUTS
In singles matches, you are allowed two one-minute timeouts. In doubles matches, you are allowed one one-minute time out per game.
BRING YOUR OWN (ACL-APPROVED) BAGS
We allow players to bring their own bags to events. Bags must be ACL-Approved. You can view the full 2018 list of approved bags at www.iplayacl.com/approved-bags. If you want to challenge a bag then it must be done PRIOR to the start of a match.
TOURNAMENT PROCESS
- We will have a print out of everyone who is registered for each event listed at your event site at least 1 hour prior to the event start time. Please check off your name that you are here.
- When your tournament begins, you will receive a text message that includes a link to that tournament bracket at the mobile number in your profile. This will eliminate the need to ask a director when you play next. NOTE: We will NOT be calling out court numbers and matches.
- Report to your assigned court in a timely manner. The technical time to avoid risk of a forfeit is five minutes. If you plan to leave the facility for more than 5 minutes during a tournament that you are participating in then notify the ACL Director running your bracket so that you are not forfeited.
- When reporting the outcome of a match, it is important that you wait until the director has verified the outcome of your match. The director will repeat back to you the name of the winning player/team and the score and ask you to confirm.
- The WINNING player/team is responsible for notifying the ACL Director running that specific bracket the match results. The ACL Director running your bracket will be announced at the event start time. Losing team should NOT report the outcome to the director.
- Both the winning and losing player/team will receive a match summary once the score has been submitted. Verify the match results and notify the director IMMEDIATELY if there is an error.
DISPUTES
While most actions in a cornhole game can be easily resolved by the players, there are occasional instances where a dispute needs a ruling by the tournament director. If a dispute cannot be resolved by the players then stop play and call the director over. Do not wait until the game is over. There is nothing we can do at that point. The tournament director's decision is final. We follow the the ACL Rules and Regulations.
PLAYER & SPECTATOR BEHAVIOR
We want everyone to have a great time and enjoy themselves. We've worked hard to provide you with an exciting and memorable experience where you can come, throw bags, compete, and meet or get re-acquainted with friends. All players abide by the ACL player and fan Code of Conduct. Any conduct we deem inappropriate will result in an immediate ejection for the facility and loss of entry fees and prize money up to that point. The tournament directors have the final call.
