The tournament included 23 teams that competed in a round robin double elimination tournament. Thank you to Schneider Electric and Varitec Solutions for sponsoring the event. Both companies received a custom set of cornhole boards that were played on during the event. 10/6/2018 Recap: St. Thomas the Apostle FundraiserOn Saturday, October 6th, we helped run the St. Thomas the Apostle Fundraiser Cornhole Tournament in Phoenix. The tournament included 36 Crew Cup teams (teams of four) that competed in a round robin style tournament. All eight teams that advanced to the single elimination tournament went 3-0 during round robin. 9/19/2018 1 Comment Recap: #DrMadridStrong FundraiserOn Saturday, September 15th, World Lymphoma Awareness Day, we ran the first #DrMadridStrong Fundraiser Cornhole Tournament in downtown Gilbert. The tournament included 25 teams teams competing that competed in a round robin style tournament with the top eight teams advancing to a single elimination tournament. Money raised during the event helped with Dr. Madrid's medical expenses as he battles Lymphoma. On Saturday, April 28th, we ran the PCL Construction Team Building Cornhole Tournament in downtown Tempe. The tournament included 50 randomly assigned teams competing in a double elimination tournament. The players fought the heat and their opponents for the top prize - two PCL-branded cornhole sets. On Saturday, April 21st, we ran a fundraiser cornhole tournament for the Ahwatukee Little League at their annual family picnic. The event offered two divisions of competition: one for kids under the age of 12 and a second division for everyone over 13 years of age. Both divisions started the event by competing in pool play where each team played the other teams in their group one time. The teams then advanced to a single elimination tournament based on the results from pool pool. All of the teams in the younger division were able to advance while only the top 12 teams in the older division advanced to the single elimination tournament. On Friday, February 16th, we ran the first annual Bags and Brews fundraiser cornhole tournament at Los Olivos Park in Phoenix. Forty-four teams came out to support the event that benefited A New Leaf, a non-profit that inspires and supports individuals and families in their journey to independence. The teams participated in the two-stage tournament. All teams first completed pool play in groups of four. Next, the top 20 teams (those that went 3-0 or 2-1 in pool play) advanced to a single elimination tournament, based on their record in pool play, with the top two teams winning prizes. Congratulations to Kirk Fonfara & Joe Seeler for going undefeated and winning the tournament over Colton Trauter & Craig Zupancic in an exciting championship match. 11/16/2017 0 Comments Recap: Arizona Builders Alliance 2On Wednesday, November 15th, we ran a team-building cornhole event for the Arizona Builders Alliance at Granada Park in Phoenix. Congratulations to Joe & Chad for going undefeated, winning the 13-team tournament. Alex & Jared fought their way back from an early loss to claim second place. Twenty-one businesses came out to support the event that benefited the Kiwanis Foster Youth's Christmas Drive and AFCC Young Entrepreneurial Academy.
The teams participated in the two-stage tournament. All teams first completed pool play in groups of four or five. Next, all of teams advanced to a single elimination tournament, based on their record in pool play, with the top three teams winning prizes. Congratulations to Vision Community Management for going undefeated and winning the tournament! Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee fought hard after a tough pool play and came in 2nd place. On Tuesday, October 2nd, we ran a team-building cornhole event for the PGIM group at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando. Twenty-one teams competed in the 3rd annual event. Congratulations to Bruce & Hany for double-dipping Brian & Dan to take the championship. Bruce is now a two-time champion winning the event last year in Scottsdale. The event took place at the the beautiful McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. Along with the cornhole tournament, the event featured food, music, backyard games, Hula-Hoop and Pie-in-the-Face contests, and more. Thirty-two teams participated in the two-stage tournament. All teams first completed pool play in groups of four. After that, all teams advanced to a single elimination tournament based on their record in pool play. Congratulations to Timmy & Tommy for going undefeated and winning the tournament! Mike & Gina fought hard and came in 2nd place. Jackson & Todd rounded out the money winners with a 3rd place finish.
