6/17/2017 Recap: Backyard Games DayBackyard Games Day (backyardgamesday.com) was our first opportunity to plan a full festival for the community. The event, located at Westworld of Scottsdale on June 17, 2017, brought in more than 1,200 attendees. It included over 50 vendors, inflatable games, dog adoptions and plenty of games for the entire family. Also at the festival, we had a few charity organizations spreading their message. The Scottsdale Firefighters Charities sponsored 200 children and adults as part of their new 12 Months of Caring program. The feature event was the 2017 Arizona State Cornhole Championships. There were five different championship events, each open to the public, that allowed baggers at all skill levels the opportunity to compete in an organized event. Over $2500 in cash and prizes were awarded to the tournament champions. Winners of each event also won handmade trophies that included a set of professional level cornhole bags with the 2017 Arizona State Cornhole Championship logo printed on them.
