Another record breaking Arizona State Cornhole Championships! By far the largest in the country, the AZSCC exceed 400 total players for the event. What an amazing weekend that started off with the 2022 Arizona Cornhole Hall of Fame Inductees followed by 15 different State Championship events. Each of the winners will receive Arizona State Championship jerseys at our annual East vs West Competition this fall. A few great highlights from the event:
We can't thank you enough for continuing to come out to these events and growing them each year and we are extremely excited for the future of cornhole in Arizona as we move into our new venue this fall - www.hole9yards.com. Whether you are a casual player or a hardcore cornhole junkie we'll have plenty of options for you 7 days a week! Keep an eye out for some of the changes that are coming to the competitive side of the sport with new event levels next season (October 1, 2022). 2022 Arizona Cornhole Hall of Fame Inductees The Arizona Cornhole Hall of Fame was a vision that started to unfold several years ago as I began to notice some of the key people who have made an impact on the sport here in Arizona. After our inaugural year in 2021 that inducted Ray Sandoval into the first HOF class, the selection process to a committee to manage the voting process. In 2022, four people from different parts of the state to volunteer for the AZCHOF Committee and to manage the process of selecting TWO (haha) new inductees to the Arizona Cornhole Hall of Fame. Congratulations to the 2022 Arizona Cornhole Hall of Fame Inductees - Doug Zafft (far left) and Bert Adams (far right). To my surprise, the committee surprised me with the AZCHOF award. I am so grateful to be mentioned in the same breath with three gentleman who have been around a lot longer than I have and who have been exemplary role models for helping to grow the sport of cornhole in Arizona. I cannot wait to see how this grows in the upcoming years! Keep an eye on the Arizona Cornhole Hall of Fame website for updates - www.azchof.com. Special Thank You! to Athena Delgado, Ray Sandoval, David Price and Joe Rieman for volunteering to manage the process for selecting the 2022 Inductees.
