Only a month late...the East vs West Competition was the biggest yet! Thank you to all of the players and guests who came down to Harrah's Casino to take part in the event. While the overall score below looks lopsided, this was one of the closest competitions with East and West players trading the lead back and forth multiple times throughout the weekend as each side was looking to win the Bert Adams East vs West Trophy. Both sides were neck and neck until about mid-day on the final day when the East side pulled ahead for good. Bert Adams Trophy At the 3rd Annual East vs West Competition, we renamed the winning trophy the Bert Adams East vs West Trophy to honor one of the great ambassadors of the game. East vs West Competition Overall Points Player of the Year Presentations The 2020-2021 Player of the Year, Doug Zafft, was recognized during the awards ceremony. New this year, we recognized the Female Players of the Year for the past four years - 2017-2018 , 2018-2019 , 2019-2020 , 2020-2021 State Champions Jersey Presentation State Champions who were in attendance were presented with their jerseys during the event. Copper Club Invitational The Copper Club Invitational is open to the top 32 players in the Arizona State Standings during the previous season. The teams played a 3 game round robin that seeded them into a double elimination tournament. 1st place: Jillian W & Natalie D ($300) 2nd place: Chrissy H & Elizabeth H ($200) 3rd place: Renee D & Brittany E ($100) 4th place: Itzel G & Rachel W ($50) Senior Singles The Senior Singles event was a three game Rounders format that seeded the players into a double elimination tournament. 1st place: Tino M ($80) 2nd place: Don H ($25) ACL Swap The ACL Swap event had 111 players compete in a four game round robin with a new partner after each round. The top 64 players advanced to a single elimination tournament for the prize money. 1st place: Gavino D & Doug Z ($600) 2nd place: Greg C & Cam Connolly ($400) 3rd place: Moses Z & Chris G ($250) 4th place: Brian B & Austin E ($150) 8 Bag Challenge The side game on Saturday was an 8-Bag Challenge. The challenge was open all day and the top three scores competed in a one round shoot-off. Nathan Dominguez and Don Hudson ended up tying and splitting the winnings. Frequent Player Program Invitational This invitational event was open to any player in Arizona who played in 40 or more ACL points events last season. Each of the 88 teams competed in a six game progressive round robin. The results from Rounders split the teams into an advanced, competitive or intermediate bracket.
