1/29/2019 Arizona Players at ACL National Event #1I'd like to congratulate this group of dedicated players who made the 2,000 mile trip across the country to compete in one of the biggest cornhole tournaments ever, with just under 700 players. I know they were excited when a few of them walked through the doorway early on Friday before most of the other players. I didn't get a chance to watch many games, as is typical when directing an event, but I did get to sneak away from working so that I could watch each of them play, even if for only a few minutes. For most of the players, this was their first experience at an event this size. It was awesome to see the intensity that they played with during their matches, competing to the very end. Seeing all of the pictures that they posted online, I'm confident they made the most out of the experience and bring what they learned back to Arizona. Overall, I was proud to tell the other directors and players that those eleven players were from Arizona! Competing in this event will only help them as they compete in future events this season and beyond! Cheers! Recap of Arizona Players Below is a recap of the finishes in each event. There are no easy games at national events. The competition is tough from top to bottom in every division so players have to be on their game at all times. Women Doubles (30 teams)
Social Doubles (39 teams)
Social Singles (75 players)
Competitive Doubles (61 teams)
Competitive Singles (111 players)
Advanced Doubles (165 teams)
Advanced Singles (339 players)

On Saturday, January 5th, we kicked off 2019 with an amazing event out in San Carlos, AZ. A total of 62 teams competed across three divisions - Advanced, Competitive and Social - to support and raise money for the Globe, Miami and San Carlos communities as they continue to rebuild after the tragedies that affected their communities back in November. The support was overwhelming and the atmosphere throughout the day was wonderful! In all, the event raised just under $5,000! WOW! Thank you to everyone who supported the event by playing, purchasing raffle tickets and the many raffle and separate donations. A special thanks to all of the lane sponsors at the event.
