Recap: Kelly Cook Real Estate Group Client Appreciation Picnic

On Saturday, April 27, we ran the Kelly Cook Real Estate Group Client Appreciation Cornhole Tournament at Cactus Park in Scottsdale. Thirteen teams competed in the adult division and eight kids competed in the 12 and under division.

In the 12 and under division, brothers Carter & Gavin won the championship and Ethan & Paige came in 2nd place. The two teams played in a nail-biter best of three series that came down to a few key shots! Congratulations!
  • 1st Place: Carter & Gavin
  • 2nd Place: Ethan & Paige

In the adult division, each team played in a four game round robin. From there, the teams were seeded into a single elimination tournament with the winning team earning 55' Smart TVs. Mike & Tyler went through the tournament undefeated beating Skyler & Tim in the championship game.
  • 1st Place: Mike & Tyler (7-0)
  • 2nd Place: Skyler & Tim (5-2)
  • Tied for 3rd Place: Nick & Kelly and Bryce & Max

Recap: Scottsdale Firefighters Association

On Sunday, April 14, we ran the Scottsdale Firefighter Association Fundraiser Cornhole Tournament. Eleven teams competed in an alternative double elimination format tournament where each team played at least four games. Teams that had two or more losses after the initial four game round robin were eliminated and the remaining teams continued to play until they reached their second loss. In the end, Jimmy & Scott avenged an earlier loss to Dan & Daniel to take the top spot!
  • 1st Place: Jimmy & Scott (6-1)
  • 2nd Place: Dan & Daniel (5-2)
  • Toilet Bowl Winners: Clinton & Aletha (0-4)

Recap: Bags with Luke Benefit Cornhole Tournament

On Saturday, April 13, we ran the 3rd Annual Bags with Luke Cornhole Tournament benefiting Luke's Legacy. A total of 34 teams competed in a two-stage tournament. First, each team played in a four game round robin. All teams with two wins or more then advanced to a single elimination tournament where they were seeded by the round robin results. In a thrilling championship match, Danny & Joey topped Jeremy & Emma to take down the win! Mike & John bested Angie & Beth in the 3rd place match
  • 1st Place: Danny & Joey (8-0)
  • 2nd Place: Jeremy & Emma (7-1)
  • 3rd Place: Mike & John (7-1)

Recap: Turf Paradise Cornhole Tournament

On Saturday, April 6, we ran the Turf Paradise Cornhole Tournament benefiting the Glendale Union High School District Foundation. Forty-four teams competed in the two stage tournament. In stage 1, all teams were randomly assigned to play four-games against various opponents to determine seeding. In stage 2 took the top 16 teams played a single elimination tournament for the cash prizes. The results were:
  • 1st Place: Baltazar & Jared
  • 2nd Place: Bruce & Adam
  • 3rd Place: Shay & Drew

Recap: $2500 Lake Havasu Spring Cornhole Championships

On April 6 and 7, we traveled to Lake Havasu for their Annual Boat Show. During the event, we ran six different tournaments with capstone event being a $2,500 Doubles tournament, sponsored by Havasu Community Credit Union. See full details below.. The event attracted players from Arizona, California and Nevada. including five ACL Pros and a number of other high level and up-and-coming players from the west coast. The event was highlighted by free camping, gorgeous views, plenty of bags and $3,400 in payouts! Thank you to all of the players who made the trip out! The feedback was wonderful and the venue was a fan-favorite!

Advanced Doubles

All experienced teams competed in a 6-7 game pool play on Saturday. Results from the pool play seeded each team into either an Advanced or Competitive level double elimination tournament on Sunday. Doug & Bill went undefeated during pool play and the double elimination tournament to take down the $1,000 top prize.

Advanced Singles

A total of 24 players competed in the Advanced Singles double elimination tournament on Saturday. Wes Pare shot lights out the entire day going undefeated for the win!

The competitive doubles teams took the lower half of the teams from Saturday's pool play. The teams competed in a double elimination tournament for a portion of the $2,500 prize pool. Grant and Sean didn't drop a game through the DE tournament.

A total of 24 players competed in the Competitive Singles double elimination tournament on Saturday. Bryan Harris used his anger from a disappointing doubles tournament to go undefeated for the win!

Social Doubles

In the Social Doubles tournament, twelve teams competed in a four game round robin to determine seeding where all of the teams advanced to a single elimination tournament. Cindy & Juana went 3-1 in round robin followed by winning three straight games in the single elimination tournament to win the division.

In the Social Singles tournament, eight players competed in a three game round robin to determine seeding where all of the players advanced to a double elimination tournament. Bob C. came back to double dip Cindy in the championship to win the division.
