Cornhole Bowl V Recap

On Saturday, January 27, we ran the Cornhole Bowl V fundraiser tournament in Tempe. We had a total of 74 teams competing in two divisions - social & experienced. Money raised from the event benefited the Sun Devil Family Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created primarily for the purpose of raising funds to provide financial assistance to Arizona State University alumni, students, staff and immediate family members adversely affected by medical issues..

The Social division teams competed in a two-stage tournament - pool play followed by a double elimination tournament. Father-son team, McKinnon MaJack (Jackson & Mark), won the championship belts by double-dipping 2nd place team of Mountain Point Boyzz (Matthew & Zach). In the Experienced division, Team ENS (Fausto & Scott) got their first ACL regional doubles win as a team beating The Coopers (Dylan & Steven) twice in the championship game. Backyard Boogie (Jose & Michael) rounded out the money winners with a 3rd place finish. See the full tournament HERE.

We also ran a 2nd Chance tournament for the teams that went 0-2 and 1-2. Nine teams competed in a single elimination tournament with the winning team earning a free entry into the Street Eats Food Truck Festival Cornhole Tournament next month.  Congratulations to Aiming Juice (Bert & Doug) for winning this event. Our last event of the day was a Long Toss competition. Half of the money in the pot went to the Sun Devil Family Charities fundraising efforts and the other half went to the winner of the competition. Keith S (Fireballers) hit the longest shot at 44 feet winning over $200.

• Saturday, February 24: Harold's Corral in Cave Creek. $1,500 in Cash and Prizes. Beginner, Competitive (formerly Intermediate) and Advanced divisions doubles, Competitive (formerly Intermediate) and Advanced Singles. *ACL Regional singles and doubles
• Saturday, March 3: 3rd Annual Wags & Bags Fundraiser Tournament (2 divisions - social and experienced)
  
• Friday-Saturday, June 15-16: 2018 Arizona State Cornhole Championships. Divisions include Juniors 13 and under, Juniors 18 and under, women-only, seniors 55+, beginner, intermediate and advanced.
